Emily and Josh’s Engagement Session

How adorable are Emily and Josh?! We hit three of my favorite spots for their Richmond engagement photoshoot – Brown’s Island, VMFA, and Libby Hill!

In true Remy Photos fashion, we included a champagne pop to get the party started and kept the energy up with shots from the most beautiful bottle of tequila I’ve ever seen. It even matched their outfits, down to her stylish shoes.

I just love these two and their chemistry- what a dream photoshoot!

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Wedding | Kim + Brendan

Kim and Brendan’s VMFA wedding was one for the books. Kim dreamed up the most classy, chic, fun, and colorful wedding day with so many amazing vendors! She packed in 3 dress changes, 3 venues, and 1 visit from her fur baby – also named Remy – all before their getaway in an antique Bentley.

In true Richmond fashion, they took the RVA Trolley from their ceremony at Pro-Cathedral of St. Peter to the reception at VMFA. Once inside, guests could get a caricature of themselves or watch as a live painter painted a scene from the church!

These two dated for 12 years before Brendan proposed. Then, they had to reschedule their big day due to COVID. Their faces walking down the aisle showed how long awaited this day had been, and how happy they were that it was finally here! Congratulations, friends!

The Boathouse at Sunday Park Wedding | Anne Clarke + Alden

Anne Clark and Alden aren’t just some of my sweet friends, but they are also my next-door neighbors. It felt like such an honor that they asked me to photograph their wedding day! The hydrangea-themed celebration at The Boathouse at Sunday Park was full of summery, colorful, floral beauty! From the cool-toned, colorful bridesmaid dresses to the Gelati Celesti ice cream truck, all the way to the exciting bubble grand exit- it was the perfect day!

Creek’s Edge Winery Wedding | Christy + Chad

Christy and Chad celebrated their wedding day at the beautiful Creek’s Edge Winery in Lovettsville, Virginia!  I LOVED photographing a new venue with luscious vineyards, beautiful stone archways, and those pretty barn doors. This wedding basically included all the best things- a great party, pink, a pearl veil, and a popcorn machine (their FAVORITE snack)!

Hazy Mountain Wedding | Mireille + Elliott

Mireille and Elliott had the most romantic Spanish-inspired wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia! Bold pink florals (and shoes!) perfectly complemented the Blue Ridge mountain views at Hazy Mountain Vineyards & Brewery.

Their beautiful day started with a ceremony at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. They included such thoughtful details, like incorporating Mireille’s parents’ wedding lasso – a Hispanic tradition and symbol of unity. It was a really special moment, followed by an exciting exit to their reception with blue & white ribbon streamers!

The celebrations continued at Hazy Mountain – the perfect venue for their theme. Blue tile table numbers and tequila bottles were the ultimate nods to their heritage, and to Mireille’s tequila business. I just loved this unique theme and LOVE their love!

Big Spring Farm Wedding | Christine + Eric

This wedding was so special to me!! My sweet friend Christine married Eric, the love of her life, her best friend, her doggy baby daddy, her #1 human. After ten years together and one pandemic postponement, the couple was ready to celebrate!

The colorful details of their day popped against stormy skies. The bridesmaids wore mixed jumpsuits and carried bright bouquets of faux florals. Christine rented the flowers from Something Borrowed Blooms – an online, rent-and-return wedding floral boutique that gave her the style of stems she loved at a fraction of the price of fresh flowers.

The ceremony was moved to Big Spring’s covered patio to dodge the downpours, where guests enjoyed gelato from the Pronto Via camper and signature cocktails while the bride hid in my car just behind the ceremony location- it was a moment to remember. After their beautiful ceremony, we thankfully got a break from the rain and got to take some fun bridal party shots and even had time for bride and groom pictures after zooming towards the overlook on a golf cart! Not even this crazy stormy day could deter their joy or the party, especially with a fun crew like theirs! It was the perfect day, rain and all because these two made the most special commitment to each other and got to celebrate with all their favorite people by their sides.

Congratulations, Tine and Eric!! I’m so happy for you, friends!! LOVE YOU!

Bandit’s Ridge Wedding | Rachel + Tyler

Rainy days just don’t stress me out like they used to, friends. If anything, they can be even more romantic and magical than you could ever imagine… just like this perfect day at Bandit’s Ridge! Rachel and Tyler were a dream couple to work with, always so kind, joyful, and their love radiates for one another. They shared so many special moments this day with family and friends, but my favorite being when Rachel’s brother walked her down the aisle with tears streaming down his face. I enjoyed every moment of the day and wish nothing but endless blessings in Rachel and Tyler’s marriage. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Robertson!

Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens Wedding | Jess + Kemper

Jess and Kemper met on Bumble, although Jess is pretty certain they had met 3 years prior on Bumble but never met up due to busy schedules! Crazy enough, the two also only lived a few blocks away from each other the entire time and most likely crossed paths unknowingly multiple times. The two moved to a different location in Richmond, walked their two dogs daily to the VMFA. Jess had a favorite bench about halfway between the museum and where they walked. On the day Kemper proposed they were on a walk with the dogs and stopped at the bench. As they got up to make their way back home, Kemper made the dogs sit and he proposed! The surprises weren’t over yet, as Kemper had also made reservations at Jess’ favorite restaurant, Stellas. He clearly knew how to plan an extraordinary proposal! They also had a trip planned to fly to Mexico the following day which Jess had assumed was just a vacation. Little did Jess know, until after the fact, that their trip to Mexico was actually a an engagement celebration- such a fun idea!

Jess and Kemper had a beautiful garden wedding at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. They were able to celebrate their love for each other surrounded by their family and friends. The gardens were in full bloom which made the absolute perfect backdrop for both their ceremony and reception. Their sage green bridesmaid dresses looked absolutely beautiful with the spring florals!! Jess did a first look with her father and Kemper. As you can see by the pictures below, both first looks were very emotional and sweet! Their flower girls were so excited to walk down the aisle before Jess walked down with her dad! It was a gorgeous day with a super fun exit of LED sticks and tambourines. Such a fun night, I just loved this wedding!!

Congratulations Jess and Kemper!!
