Williamsburg Wedding | Emily + Brian

Emily and Brian (aka Brantley) grew up in the same hometown without ever knowing one another; their moms even worked together! It wasn’t until Emily went to meet Brian’s friend that she was introduced to him. Brian later invited her to a party where they really connected, he called out of work the next day so they could spend it together, and from that point on they were inseparable!

Two years into dating, Emily’s mom requested a family trip to Anna Maria Island, Florida. She had vacationed there as a kid and wanted to go back one more time. Brian knew he wanted to propose on the vacation, so he asked Emily’s dad for his blessing three months in advance and then got down on one knee at the perfect moment while on their trip. How cute!! I love the sentiment behind the location and the romantic setting.¬†

Emily and Brian’s Williamsburg wedding was full of surprises. From storms that rolled in right after their ceremony (amazing timing), to being forced to chug Smirnoff ices during speeches, they took it all like champs and laughed the whole way through!! When the rain lightened up just before dark, we escaped for portraits down by the water. We were blessed with the most epic sunset, and I’d like to think Emily’s mama in heaven had something to do with it ūüôā

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Brantley! It was such a joy to be a part of your day!

Xo, Remy

Colonial Williamsburg Christmas Wedding | Alex + Cory

I’m so excited to share this magical Christmas wedding in Colonial Williamsburg! Just a little backstory first- Cory and Alex ended up getting engaged then booking me for their wedding shortly after Cory’s sister’s wedding that I photographed last Spring. I was thrilled they asked me because I adored their family, I already knew Cory was going to be so much fun plus she and Alex were adorable together on the dancefloor! During their engagement session, they explained a little more about what their wedding was going to be like and I was so pumped, but WOAH, I didn’t expect such an incredible day!

I love that it was an early wedding day since it took place on December 21st when the sun sets around 5pm. The venue was absolutely beautiful, every little detail that went into the day was seriously impressive and I loved the pineapple theme mixed with all things Christmas. Cory and Alex shared the sweetest vows ever, every minute of the day was “merry and bright” ( see what I did there? ūüėČ ), they had so many fun surprises for guests that you’ll see throughout the pictures, and we even had time after the reception for tons of bride and groom portraits around Colonial Williamsburg- it was amazing. If you make it to the end you’ll get to see the magical twilight shots in front of the Inn and the reflection pool which was the perfect way to end a perfect day!

Wishing Mr. and Mrs. Proffitt a lifetime of giggles, silly dancing, and lots of blessings! ūüôā I’m so thankful I was a part of such a memorable day with two wonderful families to work with- congratulations, friends!
