Riley, Julia, and Gracie seriously rocked their senior prom portraits! I have been looking forward to this session for a while now and they turned out amazing! These three ladies are so beautiful and have their own style that matches each personality! Riley is spunky and not afraid to try something daring, like the sassy red dress she chose. She also brought along her prom date who looked very charming in his prom attire and they were TOO cute together!! Julia has a soft and sweet personality which goes along with her choice of a beautiful white gown with pretty beading at the top. Gracie is girly and enchanting, much like her pink twirly dress that I probably would have chosen myself if that were available for my prom back in the day! 🙂 Each of these girls knocked it out of the park and the VMFA even gave us some pretty pink trees that made for magazine worthy images! Just wait until you see those blooms (insert heart eyes emoji)!! I’m in love with these portraits and I just adore these girls!
FINALLY!! It’s about time I could share part one of my workshop styled shoot!Â
Can you believe this? A pink three-tiered cake with peonies on top. Sprinkles and flowers. Unicorn treats. Shimmery pink macarons. And the sweetest “sweets stand” you could imagine. DESSERT HEAVEN, PEOPLE.Â
As for the senior models… literally blown away. These girls were fierce, stunning, and so much fun! There’s no way I was that cute and full of personality when I was a senior in high school! Gracie, Libby, Lauren, Rachel, and Kelsey rocked their photos and I couldn’t be more excited about their images! Between the pop of lip color, cool-girl hairstyles, the adorable outfits, and their sweet smiles, I am obsessed!!
Shoutout to all the vendors who played a role in this awesome styled shoot! I’m so happy with how everything came out and everyone was amazing to work with!
As most of you know, on June 18th I hosted my first ever photography workshop! I had been planning the concept of this day since last summer and vendors booked by the Fall. I worked for months and months on the planning process, finding more vendors and sponsors, creating the perfect presentation, nailing down a timeline, prepping goodie bags, and so much more. This process was a challenge for me, but it was worth every second of my time!
The workshop day started at 8am with unicorn straws and delicious cold-brew, a massive Sugar Shack donut cake, and getting to know everyone better! All the attendees had been in touch through the Facebook group that I created, so it was awesome to see them all connect face to face! I feel like everyone instantly got along so well and it was such a positive vibe all around! Each person there offered something beautiful and unique to the group and I loved getting to know them all! I am so thankful that each one of those photographers believed in me, investing in my education, and decided to take the next level in their businesses by joining my first workshop experience!
Danise of Busy Bee Productivity Coaching was invited to speak in the morning to really start allowing everyone to open up and dig deep. She talked about goal setting, building a tribe, the WHY behind our businesses, and limiting thoughts/beliefs that hold us back. I couldn’t have asked for a better speaker, motivator, and encouraging role model for all the attendees. She is a total boss and is changing the lives of women who are ready to live out their purpose!
The day went on with educational lessons, one-on-one time, good food, headshots, lots of laughs, and a beautiful portfolio-building styled shoot! After we sweated our butts off in 100-degree weather and had a blast working with the models, we reconvened indoors to cool down. We enjoyed some pizza and finished our last lesson at 9pm… longest and best day ever! It was so sad to say goodbye to everyone after bonding all day, but we decided to stay connected and continue supporting each other with an Instagram and Facebook group. We have been talking in our group chats every day since the workshop! These girls understand and live out the meaning of community, encouragement, and friendship.
I love that I had the opportunity to bring this group together and that they will forever be supportive of each other. I want to share some fun behind the scenes shots from me and other attendees throughout the day! Next week I’ll be sharing photos on the blog from the styled shoots and I can’t wait for you to see what all the vendors created!
HUGE SHOUTOUT to all the vendors for their hard work and to all the sponsors for donating to the workshop and goodie bags! And a HUGE THANK YOU to my mom and my husband for helping me more than they will ever know. I could not have made this happen without them!
The day after the workshop I had a legitimate hangover. I was exhausted but my heart was so full. I was asked afterward if I thought it was worth it… OF COURSE IT WAS!!! And I would do it all over again. For those of you who have asked and who are wondering, yes- I plan to host another workshop down the road! If you want to keep up with my educational events and emails, subscribe to my email list HERE! I hope to see you at the next one, friends!

I have been wanting to book a VCU graduation session since moving back to Richmond, and it finally happened! I was so excited when Stacy and Shinal reached out to me for their Spring graduation session! Friend shoots are always so much fun, especially when they are bffs and roommates like these two! But my favorite part? The caps. Stacy’s cap read, “in the waves of change, we find our true direction.” Shinal’s cap said, “dream while you’re wide awake”. If these quotes aren’t inspiring, I don’t know what is! I loved that I was able to feel a connection to these quotes in my own way as there is so much meaning behind those words. These two women are going to make a difference in whatever direction they choose in life, and they will empower other women to do the same. It was clear to see that, even in the short 2 hours we had together.
Congratulations to Stacy and Shinal on this major accomplishment and best wishes on your next big journey!!! I know you’re going to do amazing things!
