Boathouse at Rocketts Landing Wedding | Kara and Dan

Kara and Dan met through a dating app and “it was love at first swipe!” They spent 2 years as a long distance couple but they didn’t allow that to get in the way of their love for each other. They truly believe in the saying, “distance makes the heart grow fonder”. As a result, for Kara and Dan, this was more than true! After almost 2 years, Kara and Dan were finally able to go on the date they had both been dreaming of- the National Zoo in D.C. On this date, Dan surprised Kara with a proposal and it was the best surprise ever!! Kara and Dan feel unbelievably blessed that God chose them for each other.

They had a gorgeous wedding at the Boathouse at Rocket’s Landing. They brought elements from the ocean, such as coastal blues and greens, seaglass and starfish. Everything from the ring dish, to the invitation suite, the cake, and the centerpieces.  The coastal wedding vibes were perfect for their water view reception and ceremony. Everywhere you looked, there was abundant love, laughter and happiness the entire day. Not only were Kara and Dan beaming with love, so were the rest of their family and guests! Kara even had a special tie made for her dad reminding him that she will always be his little girl. Despite restrictions due to COVID, all of their guests had such an amazing time dancing and celebrating Kara and Dan’s special day as you can see from the pictures below!

Congratulations, friends! Wishing you all the blessings in your marriage!

Commonwealth Club Wedding | Morgan + James

Morgan and James met in college during their freshman year where they lived in the same dorm. They started as friends when they went to a sorority function until the following year when they officially started dating on September 14th! They had an amazing proposal in Pismo Beach at Smugglers Cave. James and Morgan were in the middle of a 10 day road trip in California across more than 12 spots, including San Diego, Malibu Ventura, Big Sur and so many more stunning West Coast locations. They spent 10 days traveling in their rented convertible chasing sunsets. Two strangers happened to also be admiring Smugglers Cave and James asked them to take a picture of them because he was going to propose. The couple caught the whole thing on their phones and a professional camera!

Morgan and James had a beautiful wedding at the Brandermill Church and the Commonwealth Club. The weather was absolutely perfect, every detail of the wedding was stunning, and everyone was such good energy to be around- it made the day go by fast and we had so much fun! I love that they chose to have their ceremony in the same location as her sister’s weddings and where Morgan grew up. That just makes it even more special! Morgan also planned the best surprise with her dad to celebrate the last of 3 of his daughters to get married in less than 2 years (you might remember Melinda and Meg from my past weddings, too!). The reception was amazing- just the right amount of emotional moments along with the biggest and best party ever. They closed out the night with an amazing confetti exit and it will forever be one of my favorites!

Congratulations to my sweet friends Morgan and James, wising you a lifetime of laughter, love, and blessings!

Winter Wedding at Alturia Farm | Kristin + Tyler

Kristin and Tyler celebrated their winter wedding at one of my favorite venues, Alturia Farms! Though the weather wasn’t exactly what we hoped for, we made the best of it anyways. They prepared by bringing clear umbrellas and we got to take some super quick shots in the rain! We couldn’t stay out there for too long since it was about 20 degrees, but we managed to get quite a few romantic portraits! Thankfully the first half of the day was clear enough for outdoors pictures and Kristin’s bridals are some of my favorites- she looked stunning. Tyler also had some fun before the ceremony with his groomsmen and a little bit of whiskey- I love those candids of them!

The details that went into this wedding were amazing between the party favors, the drink menus, and little special touches here and there, I loved it all! Everything was so well thought out and meaningful to the bride and groom. That’s what made this day so memorable! Not to mention, this crew definitely knew how to party and it was one heck of a reception! The family and friends that attended their wedding were SO excited to celebrate Kristin and Tyler that it showed how much everyone loves them and I of course saw why. I adore their sweet relationship, in the way Tyler holds her close, the sparkle in Kristin’s eyes when he looks at her, and how much FUN they have together… all of that shines through their photos, especially during the first dance/reception shots!

I’m thankful to have been a part of this beautiful day and can’t wait to see what these two amazing people accomplish as a forever team through their marriage. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cox!
