Melinda and Tom are getting married SO SOON and I seriously can’t wait!!! I grew up in the same neighborhood as Melinda and we cheered together in middle school. When she contacted me to be her wedding photographer, I was shocked and so excited to hear from her! It’s always so much fun to reconnect with an old friend, but it’s an honor when you’re asked to capture one of the biggest days of their lives. Their engagement session is just a sneak peek of how stunning their wedding portraits are going to be. Libby Hill was the perfect spot for these two as the sun set over the Richmond skyline. Between Melinda’s model face and the way Tom looks into her eyes, I knew these pictures were going to be amazing. Just see for yourself!

VCU Graduation | Stacy and Shinal

I have been wanting to book a VCU graduation session since moving back to Richmond, and it finally happened! I was so excited when Stacy and Shinal reached out to me for their Spring graduation session! Friend shoots are always so much fun, especially when they are bffs and roommates like these two! But my favorite part? The caps. Stacy’s cap read, “in the waves of change, we find our true direction.” Shinal’s cap said, “dream while you’re wide awake”. If these quotes aren’t inspiring, I don’t know what is! I loved that I was able to feel a connection to these quotes in my own way as there is so much meaning behind those words. These two women are going to make a difference in whatever direction they choose in life, and they will empower other women to do the same. It was clear to see that, even in the short 2 hours we had together.

Congratulations to Stacy and Shinal on this major accomplishment and best wishes on your next big journey!!! I know you’re going to do amazing things!

A Heartwarming Sibling Session

Sessions like this give me so much life! This group of siblings drove an hour to get their first ever professional photos done with me in Richmond. When they first arrived at the location, they were a little quiet and really cold. It wasn’t the warmest day and it was pretty breezy, but at least the sun was shining! Within minutes of taking these photos, they began warming to the camera and started having fun together! You can see and feel SO much love, care, and joy in every image of this session. This group of five sisters and a little brother obviously love each other with every ounce of their being. They made my job easy and we had the best time. My favorites are definitely the group hug in the grass with everyone laughing- it gives me all the feels! The littlest one is literally the cutest and these girls are stunning!! Nothing is better than a family who truly loves each other and enjoys being with one another. I just love this group of sweet and beautiful people, I will never forget this session!

Engagement Session in RVA

In honor of these two lovely people getting married this weekend (EEE YAY!!), I figured I would share their sweet engagement session from this past winter! Kayla was my random roommate during my first year at East Carolina University. Sure enough, after her soon-to-be hubby proposed a few years later, she reached out to book their engagement session with me!

I was seriously SO excited for this! Kayla and Randy are crazy fun, so in love, and they just radiate happiness!! This particular winter day was, of course, absolutely FREEZING. I don’t know how she did it, but she was really a trooper wearing those dresses in that frigid weather! She looked stunning and these images are some of my favorites!! Cloudy skies turned into the most perfect golden hour. You’ll definitely want to stick around to see how this session ended on Libby Hill! Allll the heart eyes for that lighting and these two love birds! 🙂
